This Air Fryer Ravioli is a healthier version of a deep-fried comfort food. It’s made with fresh cheese ravioli coated in breading and air fried until golden and crispy.

Cheese ravioli is one of the best comfort foods!
Pasta is pretty great on its own, but stuff it with cheese and I am done.
Now, while I love my Baked Ravioli Recipe (really, any ravioli recipe!), this Air Fryer Ravioli recipe combines one of my favorite foods and one of my favorite kitchen appliances.
The result is ravioli with a warm, melty, cheesy middle and a delicious, golden, crispy exterior. It takes just 20 minutes to come together and it’s so darn good!
We like to serve these when we’re have appetizers for dinner, along with Spicy Baked Feta (Mpougiourdi), Taco Dip and Baked Chicken Wings!
Ingredients Needed:
- Eggs: eggs are used to coat the outside of the ravioli to help the breading stick and to create a delicious golden color.
- Breadcrumbs: I recommend using Italian seasoned breadcrumbs for some extra flavor. If you don’t, you’ll want to add more seasonings yourself (Italian seasoning or any dried Italian herbs are great additions!)
- Parmesan Cheese: a coating of parmesan adds delicious salty cheesiness. We can’t have too much cheese, right?!
- Seasonings: a simple duo of Italian seasoning and salt gives this Fried Ravioli just the right amount of flavor.
- Ravioli: use fresh cheese ravioli or frozen, thawed ravioli.
- Oil Spray: be sure to use a non-aerosol cooking spray so as not to damage the coating on the air fryer basket.
- Tomato Marinara Sauce: for serving!

Air Fryer Ravioli FAQs
Absolutely! If you don’t have an air fryer and just want to make these on the stove top, you can fry them in about 1/2″ of oil — just enough to brown both sides.
Usually, yes. However, for this recipe, I don’t recommend using frozen ravioli. Since we’re using a breading, we want the ravioli to cook relatively quickly. If all you have is frozen ravioli, I recommend thawing before coating.
Definitely yes! This is a great party recipe that can be prepped (coated in bread crumbs) and flash frozen. Then place them all in a freezer bag and simply air fryer before serving. You may need to add a minute or two additional cook time.
This Fried Ravioli is definitely best right away, but leftovers will last in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days. To reheat, warm back in the air fryer at 400ºF for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.
Tips and Notes
- Use fresh or thawed ravioli. Either will work, but fully frozen will not!
- Preheat the air fryer. Make sure the air fryer is nice and hot before you add in the ravioli. If it’s heating up with the ravioli inside, the outsides can burn before the insides are cooked through.
- Use a non-aerosol cooking spray. Cooking sprays containing aerosol can damage the coating on the air fryer basket.
- Don’t over-crowd. Make sure that the ravioli is in a single layer in the air fryer basket before cooking. If it’s stacked, it won’t crisp up properly.
- Serve immediately! For the best, crispy texture, serve your ravioli hot and fresh out of the air fryer!
- Use another ravioli. I love the fresh cheese ravioli, but feel free to use ravioli with other fillings too!
